New Core Team Member: Christina Duerden
At Jubilee+ we are delighted to welcome Christina Duerden as our newest core team member.
Chris is a passionate Christian with a heart for breaking down the walls of injustice and prejudice. She joins us as our Projects and Operations Lead, and brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Having became a Christian during her first year at University, Chris started her career in Grimsby working in the Social Security Office while her husband worked in the local Jobcentre. Her experience working with people on the brink of poverty led her to develop a heart for serving people in need.
After a career break, and several years working for the US-based Pampered Chef company (which allowed for spells of international travel!), Chris’s journey led her to work alongside Martin Charlesworth facilitating the ChristCentral School of Leadership. Fellow J+ core team member, Paul Mogford, then recruited her onto the ChristCentral Devoted event management team where she headed up hospitality for visiting speakers.
Having served in this wider setting, Chris was then asked to head up the Hospitality Team at her church where she began to shape and change the culture of their Sunday mornings to ensure that every person was seen and welcomed well.
Christina is thrilled to be working with Jubilee+, having felt a long-term connection with the charity, through her work with J+ founder, Martin Charlesworth. She is passionate about equipping the local church and is thrilled to be a part of a team that shares her vision.
Chris's husband, Alasdaire, now works in the Civil Service, in the Department for Education, and they have three grown-up children. In her spare time, she loves to read murder mystery novels (she figures it a temporary pastime, as she’ll have limited supply of this particular genre once in heaven!).
At Jubilee+ we’re confident that Chris's leadership and administrative gift, as well as her passion for empowering churches to serve their communities, make her an excellent addition to the team.
Her journey and experiences have uniquely prepared her for this role, and we look forward to serving alongside her!
