New Core Team Member: Steve Horne
We are delighted to introduce our new core team member, Steve Horne, who brings a wealth of experience and passion to Jubilee+.
Steve taking on the role of Partner Church Scheme Leader is a significant moment for us as a charity, integral to our growth, and our effectiveness as we equip local churches to reach those living in poverty in their communities.
Steve grew up in Bognor Regis in a non-Christian family, and his journey into ministry was preceded by a career as a children's nurse at Great Ormond Street, where he gained valuable experience working with young people and their families.
Having come to faith, his passion for serving others eventually led him to pursue ministry full-time, and for the past 15 years he has served on the executive strategic team of Emmanuel Church Brighton, overseeing Social Action and Pastoral Care. Steve’s involvement with the Newday Festival, means Steve has spent 20 summers overseeing pastoral care and safeguarding for young people!
Steve is particularly passionate about serving the poor and the lost, which has been a central focus of his ministry. He has overseen social action initiatives, including food banks, homeless shelters, and community outreach programs, helping to meet the needs of those in his local community.
In addition to his ministry work, Steve is not afraid to wear lycra! A keen runner and cyclist, he has completed the Brighton marathon seven times and competed in several triathlons. He is married to Jane, with four children aged 22, 20, 18, and 15 years.
Steve's most recent role as a site leader of a small congregation in North Hove serving two estates highlights his passion for serving his local community and making a difference in the lives of those around him. We are excited to have Steve join our team, and we look forward to the wisdom, experience and fun he will bring to our team, and to our partner churches.
Welcome aboard, Steve!
