Over the past few weeks Claudine Roberts has kindly been spotlighting some of the social action projects and ministries run by Freedom Church and Jubilee Church, both based in Liverpool.
As Toria shares in the short video below, 19 of the 100 most deprived wards in the UK are located in Liverpool, and local churches have been active in reaching out to isolated and marginalised communities.
Whether through school and hospital chaplaincy, providing spiritual and practical support to families of very unwell children, or the setting-up of a Baby Basics project (which provides vital starter packs to new mothers) these partner churches are providing invaluable support to local families in need.
Through the creation of a Community Money Advice centre, church volunteers have:
* Worked with 84 clients
* Helped get £245,000 worth of debt written off
* Gained additional income for families of £44,000
* Seen 17 clients become completely debt-free
The varied ministries run by Freedom Church, which now include care-leaver support alongside, all seek to fulfil a Jeremiah 29:7 vision which seeks the welfare of the city.
Be inspired by the short video below, and catch up on Claudine's latest blog posts, profiling social action ministries here:
